Information You Submit
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool passes directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Riley County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the correspondence. It is not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatically Collected Information
Loading a page can provide the servers with limited technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies on this site. These are small files stored on your device that let us see how visitors use the site - which pages get the most traffic and where people tend to drop off. Analytics services help us aggregate that traffic data. Your browser settings let you block cookies whenever you want. Some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
How Information Is Used
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Riley County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It provides directions to Kansas CaseSearch, Riley County District Court, the Clerk of the District Court, and municipal custodians. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
Outside Search Providers
Outside companies operate the search boxes found on content pages. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing practices apply to submitted queries. This policy does not control those companies, so review the provider's terms before entering a search.
Privacy on Linked Websites
Links may lead to the Riley district clerk, Kansas court portals, municipal courts, legal-aid organizations, or commercial search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
Data Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used for information that is collected. No internet-connected service can guarantee perfect security, however, and this website cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has shared data with us, reach out and we'll delete it right away.
Your Data Rights
Kansas privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights in addition to the practices stated here. The Kansas Open Records Act, K.S.A. 45-215 et seq., governs requests to public agencies, while Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22 governs electronic access to court records; neither converts this private site into a court-record custodian. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may change this privacy policy down the road. When we do, the updated version goes up on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to keep tabs on how we handle your information.
Effective date: August 25, 2026
